Your primary duty will be to assist with tote-bag stuffing, placing materials in bags for Conference attendees. You may be asked to assist with additional tasks related to set-up for the Conference.
Pre-Conference events may be in panel, lecture, roundtable, presentation, open discussion, or workshop format for various groups of attendees. While on duty, you will welcome & acclimate the presenter and attendees to the space and serve as timekeeper for the speaker.
REGISTRATION AND INFORMATION
As a Registration Volunteer, you will have many responsibilities including welcoming Conference attendees, directing walk up attendees through online registration, and providing direction to sessions. There will always be a Dance/USA staff person stationed at Registration to assist you.
Volunteers will assist with room setup including catering, welcoming guests, and miscellaneous tasks throughout these welcoming and festive events.
DIRECTIONAL/BUS CAPTAIN VOLUNTEERS
As a Directional or Bus Captain Volunteer, you will direct guests to their intended destinations, welcome attendees when they arrive to their location, and guide them to the correct bus as they depart.
PLENARY AND BREAKOUT SESSION VOLUNTEERS
Plenary and Breakout sessions are professional development sessions from industry experts and experienced administrators and artists. Sessions may be in panel, lecture, roundtable, presentation, open discussion, or workshop format. While on duty, you will welcome & acclimate the presenter as well as any attendees, and serve as timekeeper for the speaker.
SmART BAr VOLUNTEERS
SmART Bar sessions are optional 20-minute one-on-one consultations between Conference participants and industry leaders (or 'SmART Bar Bartenders') who are willing to share their expertise. Volunteers should be prepared to check in and escort attendees to their designated locations, give each attendee an evaluation to complete and collect the evaluation, and standby for miscellaneous tasks.
AFFINITY GROUP AND COUNCIL MEETING VOLUNTEERS
In this role, you will be assisting facilitators with various tasks. Volunteers will assist with checking attendees in to their assigned meetings, and must be able to clearly articulate Dance/USA council attendance policy for Executive Sessions, re-directing individuals towards open sessions if need be.
SOCIAL MEDIA STREET TEAM
We are looking for volunteers with social media savvy to help promote the Conference across all media streams.
